About Treehouse Books
Tree House Books is a 4200 sq ft general bookstore situated in beautiful downtown Holland, Michigan, on the historic main street. Tree House Books opened its doors in February of 2003 with three goals in mind; to provide a haven of comfort for those browsers who love to peruse an eclectic bookshelf, to create a sense of community within its walls where ideas and knowledge are shared, and to establish the missing link of modern retail, connection, with another human being.
The interior of Tree House Books is warm and inviting with dark green walls complementing antique tin ceilings. The space is adorned with old typewriters, school desks, comfy chairs, and quirky art. The spacious children's area boasts a colorful mural by a local artist and is home to our bookstore pets, Chet the Chinchilla, Puddle the Rabbit. Icarus, the resident Lovebird, beckons near the front door and little "nemos" in our salt water fish tank prompts squeal of delight from young and old. A life size replica of a tree house, complete with a tin roof, is always occupied by a child or two.
Tree House Books has a wide selection of adult and children's titles, as well as jounals, stationary, greeting cards, toys, puzzles, and plush. Monthly events include storytimes, book clubs, author signings, character visits, and seminars. Additional services include free gift wrap, a frequent buyer program, educator and church discounts, out-of-print searches and special orders.
Tree House Books was awarded the designation of "Best Bookstore" in West Michigan by readers of Lake Magazine, a periodical covering the Lakeshore from Chicago to Muskegon.
